Triennial Evaluations

Under IDEA 2004, a student must be re-evaluated at least every three years. This is known as a triennial review.

The purpose is to find out if the student continues to be a “student with a disability,” as defined within the law, and the student’s educational needs. But there are things you need to know so that you can ask for very specific things vs them doing a review of data or a ½ attempt for a formal evaluation.
