This session will examine common substantive and procedural IEP mistakes that can occur during the development of the IEP and how those mistakes, particularly those that can lead to a denial of FAPE, can be avoided.

Hey there!

I am Raven Woods, I am the CEO and founder of Autism Mama Rocks the IEP. I help parents gain the knowledge and confidence to become the CEO of their IEP Meeting.

I am a previous educator with a dual Masters degree in Education and Educational Leadership and hold a certificate in Special Education Advocacy from William and Mary Law School. I have done it all pretty much other than representing parents IN court. For the most part I advocate for parents in and out of IEP meetings, and in mediations. However, I have worked side by side with many lawyers and administrative judges.

Seems like a dream, doesn’t it?

I was where you are, feeling overwhelmed, scared, like a failure, and my anxiety was through the roof! I did not know what to do or what else to do.

I have been there and I GET IT!

I felt over and over again that I failed my daughter and couldn’t get her, not only what was needed and appropriate, for her, but what she deserved and had a RIGHT to receive.
I thought I knew my stuff from getting my Ph.d in google research on my child’s disability, special education, IEPs, and the law. (Just kidding, there is no such thing as a Ph.d in google but you get what I am saying:)

However, this hard work did not teach me how to go into my child’s IEP meeting and become the CEO, or how to properly present, persuade and negotiate.

I can promise you, I’VE GOT YOUR BACK!

Not only have I been there, but I have learned through training and most of all, by trial and error, how to master the IEP process.

With 20 years experience working with children and 13 years experience as an IEP advocate, and disability expert, together we will Rock it!

Finally, at the age of 15, my daughter’s IEP Rocks. She is getting everything that is needed and appropriate for her and is set up for success.

I want to help you master the IEP process as well, sooner rather than later, so that your child can get what is needed and appropriate for them to have educational success.

How did I finally do this you ask?

By trial and error, training and experience, being a determined mama and taking action! I do not want you wasting the 6 and a half years that I did, trying to navigate and figure this all out, and in the midterm, our kiddos not getting everything needed, appropriate and deserved.

I put it all on the table for you, in my unique system, so that you are knowledgeable and confident to become the CEO of your IEP meeting so that you can ®PPPN, Plan/Prepare, Present, Persuade, and if you have to Negotiate your case—bottom line... getting it done!
