Become a Champion for Your Child’s Education!
Get the support you need to become the best advocate for your child and fight to get the education and services they deserve!
Having a child with a disability means you spend a lot of time worrying. Maybe you worry about if they will be able to have academic success, …
You are not alone in these worries. Millions of parents of children with disabilities have the same fears about the future.
Fortunately, one part of their child’s future is in getting the right education, therapies, and services that allow them to reach that highest potential! As parents, we want our schools to share the same goals we have for our children and work with us as a team to create better futures.
That’s why, three to four times a year, we should sit down with school administrators, teachers and service providers, to create our kids’ Individualized Education Plan, or IEP, and update goals and services. This should be a positive experience where we come together with people who care about our children to create a unified plan that helps them reach their goals, academic success, and thrive!
But seldomly happens, initially –– at least.
When the School Is Not Your Friend...
Do you dread your child’s IEP meetings and feel sick and stressed for days leading up to the meeting? You are not alone!
I’ve been exactly where you are and I’ve worked with countless parents and caregivers who all feel the same way about IEP meetings, like the school is less of a teammate and more like the opposition!
How many meetings have you been to where the school…
The worst part is when you are pressured into signing an IEP that you KNOW isn’t right for your child, but you simply do not know what to do!
How many times have you sat through an IEP meeting and felt…
Even worse, once you do have an IEP, you don’t know how to hold the school accountable to follow it during the school year if the IEP is not implemented.
From Insecure to Empowered Advocate!
Your child is eligible and entitled to a multitude of services, accommodations, and supports through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Free and Public Education (FAPE) laws. However, many school systems are either unfamiliar with them or depend on parents not knowing or understanding these laws.
I want to help you change that!
As a Special Education and Disabilities Advocate, member of the National Association of Professional Special Needs Education Advocates, Virginia Autism Project, and a parent of a child with Autism, I work with parents to help them know exactly what their rights are and how to be the best advocate for your child’s education. After all, YOU know what your child needs more than anyone!
Imagine leaving your next IEP meeting feeling confident that…
Most of all, imagine leaving an IEP knowing that your child is on the path to academic success and able to achieve their highest potential!
With personalized, one-on-one coaching and guidance, I can help you get a “win-win” plan in place that improves and supports a positive relationship between you and the school, while ensuring your child gets the services needed to thrive!
